The Miss California USA 2023 coronation night will take place at the Grand Ballroom of Hyatt Regency Orange County in Garden Grove, California, United States on June 18, 2023. It is the 72nd edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects California’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate from the U.S.
Currently, California has 51 Miss USA placements including the coronation of Terry Huntingdon in 1959, Maria Remenyi in 1966, Summer Bartholomew in 1975, Julie Hayek in 1983, Shannon Marketic in 1992 and Alyssa Campanella in 2011. The most recent was in 2022 when Tiffany Johnson finished in the Top 16.
Representing Lancaster, Johnson was crowned Miss California USA 2022 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County on June 5, 2022. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Andrea Shen of North California, Brianne Bailey of Garden Grove, Acacia C. McBride of Los Angeles County and Athena Crosby of San Jose.
