Daniel H. Reyes, 40, of Ironton, Iron County, Missouri, United States owned a cell phone that contained child pornography. Investigators found this out after receiving a tip from the Division of Drug and Crime Control of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Headquartered in Jefferson City, Missouri, the MSHP is a division of the Missouri Department of Public Safety. Since March 15, 2019, Colonel Eric T. Olson has been serving as the MSHP superintendent.
According to the Division of Drug and Crime Control, internet users should immediately contact the MSHP or local law enforcement if they find anyone trying to engage in unwanted, inappropriate or sexualized communications with children. After receiving a tip from the division, Iron County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Reyes’s residence in Ironton on June 14, 2023.
The deputies executed a search warrant, recovered Reyes’s phone and found multiple images of child pornography. Details about how he obtained the illegal materials were not disclosed.
Reyes was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. His mugshot has yet to be released.
In 1857, Ironton was designated as the county seat of Iron County. The city was named from the deposits of iron ore found in the vicinity.
Owned by Sherry Miller, a dog named Ike was known for lying at the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway N in Ironton. The dog, which was dubbed the Panhandling Dog, died after beig hit by a car on November 15, 2021.
