Khamzat “Borz” Maaev, 23, of Turkey is still an undefeated professional mixed martial artist. He was one of the winners in the BRAVE Combat Federation event “BRAVE CF 71” on June 19, 2023.
Featuring eight matches, “BRAVE CF 71” was held at the Bahrain National Stadium in Riffa, Bahrain. In the third bout of the evening, Maaev fought “The Soultaker” Elias Farah of Lebanon in the super lightweight division.
After 41 seconds in the first round, the referee stopped the super lightweight contest. Maaev knocked out Farah via elbows and punches.
The victory improved Maaev’s professional MMA record to 4 wins and 0 loss. Farah now has 1 win and 2 losses.
“I don’t pick easy opponents,” Maaev said days before “BRAVE CF 71”. “I want the worthiest opponents in order to put on spectacular fights. People love that. My goal is to become the best.”
Maaev describes himself as “a basic wrestler” who can “fight in the stand-up”. He said, “Every wrestler has punching power. I can knock people out, and I plan on showing BRAVE Nation fans this on June 19. I can’t wait.”
Originally from Chechnya, Russia, Maaev is now based in Turkey. When he made his professional MMA debut on September 19, 2020 at “ACM 1” in Chechnya, he knocked out Lechi Mumadov of Russia.
On March 2, 2021, Maaev defeated Jusbek Altyn Uulu via technical knockout via strikes at “Falco Fighting Championship: Grand Prix 18+” in Osh, Kyrgyztan. On January 7, 2023, the Chechen MMA fighter submitted Tagir Magomedov of Russia at “Khan Fight 2: Blood for Gold” in Bursa, Turkey.
“BRAVE CF 71” marked Maaev’s BRAVE CF debut. Represented in the event are 13 countries namely Bahrain, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, the Philippines, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.
