Angel Marin, 44, of Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, California, United States was inside Ontario Mills Mall in Ontario, San Bernardino County on May 29, 2023. He is accused of causing a mass panic inside the mall that day.
“Gun!” Marin allegedly yelled out as he ran through the mall. “He has a gun!”
Because of this, other people inside the mall ran and hid for cover. Some one them called 911.
Later, the Ontario Police Department determined that there was no threat to the public then sent out a security camera image of Marin. Weeks later, the department received an anonymous tip.
On the evening of June 18, 2023, Ontario Police Department officers arrested Marin in Rancho Cucamonga. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
Marin was charged with making a false threat of an emergency. He also faces a charge related to domestic violence.
On June 21, 2023, Marin will appear in court. He is being held on $130,000 bail.
