The Ungfru Island 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at Gamla Bíó in Reykjavik, Iceland on August 16, 2023. It is the eighth edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Iceland’s Miss Universe and Miss Supranational candidates.
Jorge Esteban and Manuela Osk of MUI ehf are the national directors of Miss Universe Iceland. Hrafnhildur Haraldsdottir of East Reykjavik was crowned Miss Universe Iceland 2022 at Gamla Bíó on n September 29, 2022 and her runner-up Isabella Þorvaldsdóttir of Northern Lights became Miss Supranational Iceland 2023.
Currently, Iceland has six Miss Universe placement including the first runner-up finish of Anna Geirsdóttir in 1962. The most recent one was in 2019 when Birta Abiba Þórhallsdóttir finished in the Top 10.
Iceland has four Miss Supranational placements including the third runner-up finish of Tanja Ýr Ástþórsdóttir in 2015. The most recent one was in 2019 when Hugrún Birta Egilsdóttir finished in the Top 25.
A total of 19 women are competing for the Ungfru Island 2023 crown. Here are the candidates:
