Michael James Feifel, 55, of Walnutport, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, United States teaches social studies at Lehighton Area High School in Lehighton, Carbon County, Pennsylvania. He is also a part-time sports writer and photographer.

Moreover, Feifel serves as the scorekeeper for the wrestling team of Lehighton Area High School. He has coached high school football at several schools in District 11 of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Recently, Feifel returned from a trip to Berlin, Germany, to Prague, Czech Republic and to Budapest, Hungary. He has been involved in a student summer international travel program and was scheduled for a trip to the Alps and Germany in 2024.

On June 9, 2023, investigators posted several ads on popular sex websites as part of a human trafficking investigation in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. Several agencies participated in the investigation including Homeland Security Investigations, the Lehigh County Drug Task Force and the human trafficking task forces of Lehigh County, Northampton County and Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Feifel allegedly responded to one of the ads thinking he was talking to a girl aged 17 working with another girl aged 14. After specific sex acts and prices were agreed upon, he allegedly made arrangements to meet one of the girls not knowing he was actually talking to an undercover officer.

On June 29, 2023, Feifel arrived at a location in South Whitehall Township to meet the girl. He was arrested there by detectives and was charged with unlawful contact with minor and prostitution and criminal use of a communication facility, which are both felony offenses.

After being arraigned before Lehigh County Magisterial District Judge Karen C. Devine, Feifel was released on $1,500 bail, which is 10% of the set amount of $15,000. On July 26, 2023, he will be back in court for his primary hearing.

According to the Lehighton Area School District, Feifel is currently not involved in any coaching or teaching over the summer break. The district will assess his employment status the teacher work year starts in September 2023.
