The Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 coronation night will be held at the Beach City International Stadium in Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta City, Jakarta, Indonesia at 5:00 p.m. on August 3, 2023. It is the first edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Indonesia’s Miss Universe candidate.
Poppy Capella is the national director of Miss Universe Indonesia. Indonesia was represented in Miss Universe by the winners of Putri Indonesia under Andy Nurhayati Beauty Institute Jakarta‘s directorship from 1974 to 1983 and Puteri Indonesia under Mooryati Soedibyo‘s directorship from 1995 to 1996 and from 2005 to 2022.
Representing Bali, Laksmi Shari De-Neefe Suardana won Puteri Indonesia 2022 on May 27, 2022 at the Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta. On January 14, 2023, she represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2022 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States.
Currently, Indonesia has eight Miss Universe placements. The highest one was in 2019 when Frederika Alexis Cull finished in the Top 10 and the most recent one was in 2020 when Ayu Maulida finished in Top 21.
