Andre L. Longmore of Hampton, Henry County, Georgia, United States has died. He was 40.
Aside from Hampton, Longmore lived in other parts of Georgia including Snellville. He also lived in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, USA, in New Haven, Connecticut, USA, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA, in Houston, Texas, USA and in different parts of New York, USA including Amityville, Farmingdale, Wyandanch, West Babylon and Copiague.
Wearing a dark shirt with red tones and long gray pants, Longmore allegedly opened fire on his neighbors in an area close to the Dogwood Lakes subdivision in Hampton at around 10:45 a.m. on July 15, 2023. Four victims were fatally shot namely Scott Leavitt, 67, Shirley Leavitt, 66, Ronald Jeffers, 66, and Steve Blizzard, 65.
Scott and Shirley were a married couple. They, Jeffers and Blizzard lived in the subdivision.
After the shooting, Longmore allegedly stole Blizzard’s black 2017 GMC Acadia and fled. On the afternoon of July 16, 2023, Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Clayton County Police Department officers found Longmore in an area near Mount Zion High School in Jonesboro, Clayton County, Georgia.
The officers exchanged gunfire with Longmore, who was fatally shot. One deputy and two police officers were injured and expected to recover.
Life Flight transported the deputy to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. The deputy was shot in the back.
One of the two wounded officers was treated on the scene. The other wounded officer was sent to Grady Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
