Albert Joseph Lee Jr., 64, of West End, Moore County, North Carolina, United States worked at Moore County Schools for almost 24 years. He is a teacher at West Pine Middle School in West End.
In July 2019, Lee’s teaching license was issued. It will expire on June 30, 2024.
On July 19, 2022, Lee allegedly sexually assaulted a student. On December 28, 2022, he allegedly took indecent liberties with the student.
On July 13, 2023, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault on a minor by Lee. Investigators obtained evidence that there was ongoing personal communications between the West Pine Middle School teacher and the minor over a period of several months.
On July 19, 2023, Lee was arrested and booked into the Moore County Detention Center in Carthage, Moore County. After the arrest, Moore County Schools suspended him with pay pending investigation.
Lee was charged with two counts of felony taking indecent liberties with a student and two counts of sexual battery. He was committed to the detention center under a $175,000 secured bond pending his first court appearance in Moore County District Court in Carthage on August 16, 2023.
