Manny Pacquiao, 44, of General Santos, Philippines and Buakaw Banchamek, 41, of Surin, Thailand were at Iconsiam in Bangkok, Thailand on July 21, 2023. The attended the press conference and official contract signing of Fresh Air‘s upcoming event “The Match of Legends“.

On July 20, 2023, Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee Pacquiao, 44, arrived in Bangkok via their private jet. They were welcomed by Fresh Air chief executive officer Vinij Lertratanachai.

Also known as “The Match 3”, “The Match of Legends” will take place in Bangkok in January 2024. In the main event, Pacquiao and Banchamek will battle it out in a boxing superfight in the 70kg weight class.

Pacquiao and Banchamek will fight for six 3-minute rounds. There will be a 2-minute break between rounds.

“The Match 3” marks Banchamek’s professional boxing debut and Manny’s 73 professional boxing fight. The latter has two previous boxing fights held in Thailand.

On December 4, 1998, Manny knocked out Chatchai Sasakul, now 53, of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand at the Tonsuk College Ground in Phutthamonthon, Thailand. On September 17, 1999, the Filipino boxer lost via technical knockout to Medgoen Singsurat, now 45, of Roi Et Province, Thailand at the Pakpanag Metropolitan Stadium in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand.

Manny’s most recent fight was on August 21, 2021 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, United States where he lost via unanimous decision to Yordenis Ugas, now 37, of Cuba. It downgraded the Filipino fighter’s professional boxing record to 62 wins, 8 losses and 2 draws.

Banchamek is 174cm tall while Manny is 166cm tall. The Thai fighter holds a professional kickboxing record of 240 wins, 24 losses and 14 draws.
