Runa Tamura, 29, lives in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan with her parents Osamu Tamura, 59, and Hiroko Tamura, 60. Osamu is a doctor and the head of the psychiatric department at a general hospital in Sapporo.
At around 10:50 p.m. on July 1, 2023, Rina and Hiroshi Ura, 62, an office worker, allegedly entered a short-stay hotel in the red light district of Susukino, Sapporo. She was wearing a white outfit and was dropped off at the hotel allegedly by Osamu.
At around 2:00 a.m. on July 2, 2023, Runa allegedly left the hotel alone. She was wearing a black outfit and was carrying a big backpack and suitcase, where she allegedly hid Ura’s severed head.
Osamu allegedly picked up Runa at the hotel and helped her carry Ura’s severed head out of the hotel. Hiroko is accused of helping her husband and her daughter store the severed head in their house in Sapporo.
At around 3:00 p.m. that day, Ura was found naked and headless in the bathroom of the hotel room in Susukino by an employee. His clothes, identification card, phone and all of his belongings were missing.
The cause of death was hemorrhagic shock caused by blood loss from stab wounds, according to an autopsy of Ura’s body. On July 24, 2023, Runa and Osamu were arrested.
On July 25, 2023, authorities raided their house in Sapporo, found Ura’s severed head and arrested Hiroko. The authorities plan to conduct an autopsy of the head.
