Demitri D. Super, 27, of Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington, United States was recently arrested. He is accused of using Skype to disseminate images of the rape of an infant.

In April 2020, Super allegedly sexually abused a boy during a Skype session with a woman, who has yet to be identified. The boy was 8-12 months old at the time.

During the abuse, Super and the woman allegedly used an online chat function to communicate. In early July 2023, law enforcement organization from outside the U.S. contacted the Computer Crimes Center of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) about the abuse.

HSI immediately worked to identify the persons in the video. After capturing a screenshot from the Skype video that clearly showed Super’s face, HSI used a facial recognition algorithm to identify possible visual matches from a database of previously indexed publicly available photos gathered from the internet.

The infant in the Skype video has been identified. The parents have been notified.

Later that day, Super appeared in U.S. District Court in Tacoma and was charged with production of child pornography. He was remanded to the custody of U.S. Marshals pending his next court date.
