Robert Grayson Shiver, 37, and his wife Lindsay Shirley Shiver, 36, are residents of Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia, United States. They also have a house in the Bahamas.
Born and raised in Thomasville, Robert played football at Brookwood School in Thomasville and Auburn University in Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA. He signed with the National Football League team Atlanta Falcons as a free agent on April 26, 2009 but he was let go in the first roster cuts in August 2009.
A former resident of Dothan, Houston County, Alabama, USA and Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA, Lindsay is Miss Houston County 2005 and Miss National Peanut Festival 2005 second runner-up. She is Andy Shirley and Cecilia D. Shirley‘s daughter.
Like Robert, Lindsay also attended Auburn University where they first met in 2007. She was not a cheerleader in the university contrary to what several publications have been reporting recently.
In 2009, Robert joined Senior Life Insurance Company in Thomasville where he is currently the executive vice president. He and Lindsay got married in 2010 and they welcomed their three sons in 2012, 2013 and 2019.
The couple and their three sons visited the Troubadour Golf and Field Club in College Grove, Tennessee, USA on October 12, 2021 and the Baker’s Bay Ocean and Golf Club in Great Guana Cay, Abaco, Bahamas on November 8, 2021. On January 28, 2023, they watched a basketball game at Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, Florida.
In April 2023, Lindsay visited Dothan with her three sons but without Robert. In June 2023, she visited IMG Academy n Bradenton, Florida, with her three sons but also without her husband.
While Lindsay’s social media posts show a picture of a happy family life, Robert recently filed for divorce. He allegedly found out that she was having an affair with Terrance Bethel, 28, of Abaco.
On July 16, 2023, Bahamian police investigated a break-in at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Guana Cay, Exuma, Bahamas and identified Bethel as the suspect. They found WhatsApp messages on his phone detailing a plot crafted by him, Lindsay and Faron Newbold Jr., 29, of the Bahamas to kill Robert.
After being arrested in Abaco, Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold were flown to Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas where they were jailed. Robert and Lindsay were due in the Thomas County Superior Court in Thomasville on July 20, 2023 each with counterclaims against the other.
Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold were not required to enter a plea when they appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley in Nassau on July 28, 2023. On October 5, 2023, the three suspects will return to court.
