Max Corey Johnson Jr., 44, of Harvey, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States joined YouFit Gyms in Harvey in December 2022. As a child care specialist at the facility, he supervised children between the ages of 1 and 12.
Johnson is accused of accessing and downloading material showing the sexual abuse of children. At this time, investigators have yet to uncover allegations of inappropriate behavior with children at the gym’s day care.
On July 24, 2023, Homeland Security Investigations special agents and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Johnson. He was charged with one federal count of receipt of child pornography.
Johnson is no longer a YouFits employee. After his arrest, he was placed under custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
