Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia, United States residents Robert Grayson Shiver, 37, and Lindsay Shirley Shiver, 36, have a house in the Bahamas. They have been married since 2010 and they have three sons together.
Robert, Lindsay and their three sons visited the Troubadour Golf and Field Club in College Grove, Tennessee, USA on October 12, 2021 and the Baker’s Bay Ocean and Golf Club in Great Guana Cay, Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas on November 8, 2021. On March 28, 2022, they visited Vail, Colorado with her parents.
It was in the Bahamas where Lindsay met Terrance Bethel, 28, of Abaco. Robert filed for divorce when he found out she was allegedly having an affair with Bethel, the suspect in a break-in at Grabber’s Bar and Grill in Guana Cay, Exuma, Bahamas on July 16, 2023.
While investigating the break-in, Bahamian police found WhatsApp messages on Bethel’s phone detailing a plot crafted by him, Lindsay and Faron Newbold Jr., 29, of Abaco to kill Robert. Bethel and Lindsay allegedly hired Newbold to murder Robert.
Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold were arrested in Abaco and flown to Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas where they were jailed. She and Robert were due in the Thomas County Superior Court in Thomasville on July 20, 2023 each with counterclaims against the other.
On July 28, 2023, Lindsay, Bethel and Newbold made their first appearance in court before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley in Nassau. Ian Cargill, K. Melvin Munroe, Cassie Bethel and Alphonso Lewis Jr. are representing the three suspects, who were not required to enter a plea.
On August 1, 2023, Lindsay, Terrance and Newbold were granted bail with the help of Robert. After speaking to Robert, the prosecutor withdrew objection to the release of the three suspects, according to Bahamas Court News.
Lindsay was granted $100,000 cash bail. She is required to wear an ankle bracelet and remain in the Bahamas until her court appearance on October 5, 2023.
Terrance and Newbold were each granted $20,000 bail. They are required to wear tracking devices and sign in at the police station of Marsh Harbour, Abaco Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays before 6:00 p.m.
Moreover, Lindsay, Terrance and Newbold are required to surrender their travel documents. They are prohibited from contacting Robert.
