Dr. Sudipta Mohanty, 33, of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States is an internist who is fluent in English, Spanish, Russian and Thai. He has lived in different parts of California, USA including Moreno Valley and Rancho Cucamonga and he previously lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
In 2014, Mohanty graduated from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internship and residency at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Riverside, California.
On May 27, 2022, Mohanty and a female companion were passengers aboard a Hawaiian Airlines flight from Honolulu, Hawaii, USA to Boston. During the flight, he was seated next to a girl, then 14.
At the time, Mohanty was affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was also serving as an instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
According to the girl, Mohanty covered himself with a blanket and his leg was bouncing up and down. Later, the blanket was no longer covering him while he was allegedly masturbating.
After arriving in Boston, the girl told members of her family about what she claimed Mohanty did. Law enforcement was notified.
On August 10, 2023, Mohanty was arrested and charged with one count of lewd, indecent and obscene acts while in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the U.S. He was released on conditions that day after he appeared in federal court in Boston.
