Kirana Jasmine “Jazzy” Chewter, 24, of Mae Hong Son, Thailand almost won Miss Universe Thailand 2023. She and 52 others competed for the crown.
Hosted by PK Piyawat, the Miss Universe Thailand 2023 coronation ceremony was held at the MCC Hall of The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand. It is the 24th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Thailand’s Miss Universe candidate.
A former resident of Bangkok, Thailand, Chewter attended Bangkok Phatthana International School in Bang Na Tai, Bang Na, Bangkok. Founded in 1957, it is the oldest British international school in Thailand.
While based in Bangkok, Chewter was one of the 15 contestants of “The Face of Thailand” Season 2, which aired on Channel 3 from October 17, 2015 to January 9, 2016. She finished eighth.
Palitchoke Ayanaputra, 39, and Krit Amnuaydechkorn, 24, performed during the Miss Universe Thailand 2023 coronation ceremony. At the end of the event, Miss Universe Thailand 2022 Anna Sueangam-iam, 24, of Bangkok crowned her successor.
Chewter was runner-up to Miss Universe Thailand 2023 Anntonia Porsild, 26, of Nakhon Ratchasima. Phuket’s Praveenar Singh-Thakral, 27, Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Chatnalin Chotjirawarachat, 25, and Lamphun’s Nicha Poonpoka, 20, were the respective second, third and fourth runners-up.
Miss Universe Thailand 2017 Maria Poonlertlarp, 31, Miss Universe Thailand 2021 Anchilee Scott-Kemis, 25, and Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi, 25, were in the panel of 15 judges. They were joined by Becky Russell, Meena Akrapongpisak, Naree Chevasutthisin, Narumol Noi-am, Phachara Prapanwattana, Phumiphat Thammaphan, Dr. Pongtheera Setthanawarakul, Puspanich Phuengpookjai, Sameera Shah, Sombatsara Teerasaroch, Tae Boonyaliang (Kratae Rsiam) and Voralak Tulaphorn.
