Designer handbags worth around $30,000 were stolen from The Americana at Brand in Glendale, Los Angeles County, California, United States on August 16, 2023. That day, Glendale Police Department officers on e-bikes patrolling on Colorado Street near the mall noticed a car without license plates obstructing traffic in the area.
The officers pulled the car over. Inside the car, they found burglary tools and several stolen designer handbags with price tags attached.
Among the handbags were a small pink Lady D-Joy bag with pearl embroidery worth around $7,700, a medium Dior essential tote bag worth around $5,000 and a small black Lady D-Joy bag worth around $4,900. No purchase receipts were found.
Memory Yearby, 26, of Seattle, King County, Washington, USA, Janeice Downs, 23, of Seattle and Reality Leavens, 18, of Renton, King County were inside the car. They denied ownership of the bags when questioned by the officers.

Mall security recognized Yearby, Downs and Leavens from previous thefts. The three women were arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools.
This is not the first time Yearby was accused of stealing. While under investigation for organized retail theft, she was caught on camera along with Earnetra Shalia Turner, now 27, and Billy Godfrey Chambers, now 30, stealing over $93,000 in designer bags at a Louis Vuitton store at The Shops at The Bravern in Bellevue, Washington in June 2022.
