The Miss Universe Nigeria 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at The Convention Centre of the Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria on September 10, 2023. It is the second edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Nigeria’s Miss Universe candidate.
Nigeria was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Miss Nigeria in 1964, the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) from 1987 to 1995 and from 1998 to 2004 and the MBGN first runner-up known as MGBN Universe from 2005 to 2022. Omololu Ojehomon won the inaugural edition of Miss Universe Nigeria in 1984 but she did not compete in Miss Universe.
Currently, Nigeria has two Miss Universe placements, which are the Top 10 finish of Agbani Darego in 2001 and the Top 20 finish of Olutosin Araromi in 2019. Hannah Iribhogbe, also known as Montana Felix, won the MBGN Universe 2022 title at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island on October 21, 2022.
Silverbird Group president Guy Murray-Bruce is the national director of Miss Universe Nigeria. On May 12, 2023, he announced that Miss Universe Nigeria will no longer be under the MBGN contest.
