Chad Robert Miller, 38, of Altadena, Los Angeles County, California, United States is a teacher at Canyon Oaks High School and at the K-12 Mountain Park Independent Study School, which are both in Monrovia, Los Angeles County. He is accused of having an illegal sexual relationship with a girl, 16, in Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, California.
In April 2023, Miller allegedly met the girl on a social media app. She is not a Monrovia Unified School District student.
Miller allegedly met the girl in person and engaged in several illicit sexual acts with her at multiple locations in Rancho Cucamonga. On September 6, 2023, the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department arrested him on suspicion of contacting a minor to commit a sex offense and two counts of sexual contact with a minor.
Bail for Miller was set at $100,000. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
The Monrovia Unified School District is cooperating with the investigators. The school district placed Miller on administrative leave shortly after his arrest pending the outcome of the investigation.
On September 8, 2023, Miller will appear in court. Investigators believe there could be additional victims due to his position as a teacher.
