James Arrington, 22, of Slidell, St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States has ties to Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, USA. He hid in Watertown after allegedly shooting a man in Slidell on June 14, 2023.
The identity of the victim was not released. Whether or not he and Arrington knew each other was also not revealed.
The victim has been released from the hospital with a broken hand caused by a bullet. For the rest of his life, he will have a bullet lodged in his ribcage.
Wanted out of the Slidell Police Department, Arrington was tracked down by the U.S. Marshals Service to Watertown. On September 13, 2023, the U.S. Marshals Service asked officials with the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force to arrest him at 409 South Massey Street in Watertown.
Jefferson County ’s Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle was deployed. However, Arrington had left before the task force entered the residence.
On September 14, 2023, Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force members found Arrington hiding in a bathroom in an apartment at 620 State Street in Watertown. They took him into custody without incident and booked him into the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building in Watertown.
Arrington was not armed when he was arrested. He is currently awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
