Eric Hyun, 26, of Suwanee, Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States parked a silver Jaguar sedan outside of the Jeju Sauna on Gwinnett Place Drive in Duluth, Gwinnett County on September 12, 2023. The traditional Korean bathhouse is open 24 hours a day.
Hyun, who had injuries, called a family member to pick him up. The family member arrived with a Mercedes and drove him to a hospital, leaving the silver Jaguar sedan outside of the bathhouse.
While at the hospital, Hyun asked the family member to retrieve a personal item from the silver Jaguar sedan. At around 10:50 p.m., the family member called 911 to report a human body inside the trunk of the vehicle.
Because of decomposition, the victim’s gender was not immediately identified by investigators. On September 14, 2023, investigators confirmed that the body, which weighed 70 pounds, was that of a woman from South Korea and she is believed to be in her 20s or 30s.
Gwinnett County Police Department officers arrested five adults and one minor. They were booked into the Gwinnett County Jail in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County without bond.
Each of suspects was charged with murder, imprisonment, tampering with evidence and concealing a death. Here is the list:

- Joonho Lee, 26, Lawrenceville
- Joonhyun Lee, 22, Lawrenceville
- Junyeoug Lee, 15, Lawrenceville
Over the summer, the woman was lured over from South Korea to join an organization called Soldiers for Christ in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia. The six suspects, who are all members of the group, held the woman at a residence on Stable Gate in Lawrenceville.
On August 3, 3023, the suspects allegedly started to beat the woman in the basement of the residence where she was starved to death. Her relatives in South Korea have yet to be notified.
Joonhoo, Joonhyun and Junyeoug, who are siblings, live in that residence. They are not related to Hyun, who used to live there.
Except for Gawon, who is visiting the U.S. on a visa, all of the suspects are U.S. citizens. Hyunji is the girlfriend of one of the suspects.
