Who is Bernadette Belle Ong?

Bernadette Belle Wu Ong is a Chinese-Singaporean actress, events host, model and beauty queen with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. She is 5’7″ tall and she owns a jewelry brand called Cora.

Born to Chinese parents in Metro Manila, Philippines, Ong is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese and Filipino. A resident of Toa Payoh, Singapore, she trained to be a professional disc jockey and completed a culinary arts training.

1. In 2004, she moved from the Philippines to Singapore. From Singapore, she later moved to Melbourne, Australia where she took four jobs to self-fund her studies into a university there.

3. On October 17, 2019, she competed against nine other Miss Universe Singapore 2019 candidates in Zouk in Clarke Quay, Singapore. She ranked second and was crowned Miss Charm Singapore 2019. She was supposed to represent Singapore at Miss Charm International 2020 in Ho Chi, Minh, Vietnam on January 14, 2020 but the competition was canceled due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
4. In April 2020, she started fundraising independently to help migrant workers in Singapore who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
5. In May 2020, she partnered with ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR), an initiative to spread kindness to migrant workers in Singapore.
6. On December 10, 2020, she was officially introduced as Miss Universe Singapore 2020. She was appointed by then Miss Universe Singapore national director Valerie Lim, who is Miss Universe Singapore 2011.
7. On May 16, 2021, she represented Singapore at Miss Universe 2020 and competed against 73 other candidates at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States. She was unplaced.
