Autumn C. Cathey, 26, is accused of starting a fight at the Green Room Restaurant inside Nashville International Airport in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, United States on September 21, 2023. It has yet to be confirmed whether or not she is a resident of Nashville.
Cathey allegedly had a short conversation with a woman, 81, before she started yelling at the senior citizen. The victim was allegedly punched by the suspect with a closed fist holding a cellphone.
Because of the attack, the elderly woman suffered bruising and a quarter-inch laceration above her left eye. After the attack, Cathey allegedly continued walking through the concourse, destroyed a Mexican pride display and knocked items off several business shelves.
Metropolitan Nashville Police Department officers arrived and confronted Cathey. When they arrested her, she resisted by going limp and repeatedly pulling away.
During the arrest, Cathey allegedly spat on the Operational Firearms Commander’s head and neck and called the officers racial slurs such as Mayo Monkey. She was arrested and charged with elderly adult abuse, which is a felony, and vandalism, resisting stop, frisk, halt, arrest or search, disorderly conduct and assaulting a first responder, which are misdemeanors.
At 8:05 p.m., Cathey was booked into the Correctional Development Center for Females in Nashville. Her bond was set at $5,000 for the felony charge and a total of $7,000 for the four misdemeanor charges.
