Lena Marie Phelps, 27, of Caldwell, Canyon County, Idaho, United States is employed by Centurion Health as a nursing assistant. Based in Sterling, Loudoun County, Virginia, USA, the company provides medical and mental health care services in jail, prisons, state hospitals, courts and community-based settings across 16 U.S. states.
In particular, Centurion Health provides care for 7,500 inmates in Idaho. In October 2021, the company entered into a five-year contract with the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC).
Between May 1, 2023 and May 31, 2023, Phelps allegedly had a sexual intercourse with a prisoner in Ada County, Idaho. Whether or not she was in a romantic relationship with the prisoner has yet to be confirmed.
On September 7, 2023, a warrant was issued for Phelps’ arrest. On September 14, 2023, she was arrested in Boise, Ada County.
Phelps was charged with having sexual contact with an inmate while being employed at the prison. In Idaho, the crime is punishable with up to life in prison.
After posting $10,000 bond, Phelps was released. At 8:00 a.m. on September 25, 2023, she will attend her next preliminary hearing in Ada County.
