Ronald Keith Davis, 37, of Williamstown, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, United States is a Pennsylvania State Police trooper. He was allegedly in a romantic relationship with Michelle Perfanov, 37, of New York City, New York, USA while he was married to another woman.
The extramarital affair allegedly lasted for four months. During this period, Perfanov allegedly lived in Davis’s camper van.
After the two broke up, Davis obtained a petition to have Perfanov involuntarily committed to a mental hospital. On August 21, 2023, he chased her down at the Pennsylvania State Game Lands in Weiser State Forest in Pennsylvania.
When Davis tried to carry Perfanov to his car, she fought back. He arrested her without his supervisor’s permission, sat on her, choked her and grabbed her by the legs throughout.
The arrest was filmed by a civilian companion of Davis. Perfanov was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
Contrary to Davis’s claims, doctors found Perfanov was not mentally unstable. On August 26, 2023, she was released from the hospital.
On September 21, 2023, Davis was arrested, arraigned and remanded without bail. He was charged with felony strangulation, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and official oppression.
At 9:30 a.m. on October 2, 2023, Davis will attend his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum. He remains in the Dauphin County Prison in Harrisburg, Dauphin County.
