Dr. Samantha Gallia biography: 13 things about Miss Washington USA 2023

Dr. Samantha Gallia is an American dentist and beauty queen from Seattle, King County, Washington. She is originally from Sacramento, California, USA.

Gallia is Dr. Louis Gallia and Kerri Gallia‘s daughter. Louis, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, married Kerri on March 26, 1995.

Samantha is a breast cancer support advocate and a two-time marathon runner. She is the first doctor and the first dentist to win the Miss Washington USA title.

From a young age, Samantha  knew that she wanted to pursue dentistry. Here are 13 more things about her:

1. She grew up in Sacramento with her two younger siblings.
2. From 2012 to 2016, she attended St. Francis Catholic High School, Sacramento in Sacramento.
3. From June 2016 to August 2017, she was an office assistant at Scripps Oral Srgery in Sacramento. From June 2016 to June 2018, she was a Diagnostic Digital Imaging research assistant.
4. From August 2016 to May 2019, she went to the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.
5. From August 2017 to August 2018, she served as the social chair of the University of the Pacific’s Pacific Pre-Dental Society.
6. From December 2017 to December 2018, she was the president of the Delta Episode chapter in the University of the Pacific.
7. From 2019 to 2022, she attended the University of the Pacific’s dental school Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California.
8. On June 19, 2022, she started pursuing an oral and maxillofacial radiology residency at the University of Washington in Seattle.
9. On November 12, 2022, she represented King County at Miss Washington USA 2023 and competed against 18 other candidates at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center in Renton, King County.
10. In April 2023, she attended a tennis fundraiser for breast cancer support and threw the Seattle Mariners’ first pitch.
11. She was 25 years old when she represented Washington at Miss USA 2023 on September 29, 2023 and competed against 50 other candidates at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, USA. She finished in the Top 20.
12. On April 27, 2024, she and Jack Ryan will get married in Sacramento.
