Keng Cha, 29, of Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States worked at Como Park Senior High School in St. Paul as a volleyball coach. In 2022, he allegedly started texting a girl, then 15, who is attending the school.
After about a month, Cha allegedly asked the underage girl for sexual favors and nude videos. He is accused of engaging her in sex on four occasions between October 2022 and September 2023.
On September 28, 2023, the school’s athletic director terminated Cha’s employment with the school district. Shortly after, while still at the school, he texted the girl he allegedly sexually abused, asking, “Why haven’t you been coming to games?”
“Did you say anything to anyone about us?” Cha also texted. The girl received the messages while officers were talking to her in the school office area.
Cha was arrested that day and booked into the Ramsey County Jail in St. Paul. He told police he had been in a personal relationship with the girl and it progressed to sexual contact.
On October 2, 2023, Cha will make his first court appearance. He was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct by a school employee and third-degree criminal sexual conduct by a person in a position of authority.
