“The Landslide” Eduard Folayang, 39, of Baguio City, Philippines is one of the two Filipino mixed martial artists on the “ONE Fight Night 14” card. Training at Lions Nation MMA in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, he has been competing in ONE Championship since the Singapore-based martial arts promotion started in 2011.
“ONE Fight Night 14” was held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on September 29, 2023. It marked Folayang’s 24th ONE Championship fight.
In the fourth bout of the evening, Folayang faced Amir Khan, 28, of Singapore in the lightweight division. It was a rematch almost five years after their first fight.
On November 28, 2018, Folayang defeated Khan via unanimous decision at “ONE: Conquest of Champions” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. They competed for the then vacant ONE Lightweight World Championship title.
At “ONE Fight Night 14”, Folayang knocked out Khan after 1 minute and 57 seconds in the third round. It improved the Lions Nation MMA fighter’s professional MMA record to 23 wins and 13 losses.
On the other hand, Khan now has 14 wins and 10 losses. He has been competing in ONE Championship since 2014.
This is Folayang’s 14th ONE Championship win. Aside from defeating Khan twice, the Filipino MMA fighter defeated 12 other opponents in the promotion namely A Sol Kwon, Wadson Teixeira, Felipe Enomoto, Vincent Latoel, Kotetsu Boku, Tetsuya Yamada, Adrian Pang, Shinya Aoki, Ev Ting, Kharun Atlangeriev, Aziz Pahrudinov and Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu.
In June 2023, Folayang founded Lions Nation MMA along with other ONE Championship fighters. Also on September 29, 2023, his teammate “The Graceful Igorot” Jenelyn Olsim, 26, was submitted by “Shadowcat” Jihin Radzuan, 25, of Johor Bahru, Malaysia at “ONE Friday Fights 35” at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand
Days before “ONE Fight Night 14”, Lions Nation MMA collaborated with Iron Bunny Philippines. Entrepreneur Ricky Enriquez and digital marketer Vir Moore Moranta established the apparel brand in 2015.
