Nikita Calantropo, 15, Ron Quinones, 14, and Kiryl Nerad, 14, were students of Creekside High School in St. Johns County, Florida, United States. While attending the school, the three allegedly created a hit list for students they wanted to physically harm and a lethal hit list of students they wanted to kill.
On September 29, 2023, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office was notified of suspicious text messages. The phones of two of the suspects were confiscated by law enforcement.
On October 2, 2023, the St. Johns County School District suspended Calantropo, Quinones and Nerad. The suspension took effect on October 3, 2023.
On October 4, 2023, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered Calantropo, Quinones and Nerad’s text messages discussing the identification of target students including aerial photographs of Creekside High School with an on-campus location circled, photographs with faces circled and the use of firearms. On October 5, 2023, the three boys were arrested.
On October 6, 2023, Calantropo, Quinones and Nerad attended their detention hearings. They were ordered to remain held secure in detention for 21 days or until further order of the court.
All victims in Calantropo, Quinones and Nerad’s lists have been notified. The three suspects were each charged with written threats to kill or do bodily harm and unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
One of the three suspects claimed that they formed a group called The United Boyopolis Socialist Republic after being bullied by other Creeskide High School students. They assumed a logo, created an application for potential group membership and actively sought to recruit members into their group.
