“The Book 3” is an extended play by the Japanese pop duo Yoasobi. It was released by Sony Music Japan on October 4, 2023.
On October 6, 2023, “Undercurrent” hit theaters in Japan. It is a drama film directed by Rikiya Imaizumi (今泉 力哉).
“The Book 3”
Formed in 2019, Yoasobi consists of Keiichirō Tanaka (田中啓一郎) and Lilas Ikuta (幾田 りら). The duo originally released songs based on selected fictional stories posted on a social media website for creative writing operated by Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
Professionally known as Ayase, Tanaka was born in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan. He turned 29 on April 4, 2023.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Ikuta attended Nihon University in Chiyoda, Tokyo from April 2019 to March 2023. On September 25, 2023, she turned 23.
Ikuta is the vocalist of Yoasobi and Ayase is the composer. Their EP “The Book 3” has 10 tracks.

“Undercurrent”
Born in Kôriyama, Fukushima, Japan, Imaizumi turned 42 on February 1, 2023. He wrote “Undercurrent” with Kaori Sawai and Tetsuya Toyoda.
The film is about Kanae, a woman who runs a rundown public bathhouse she inherited from her parents. She is played by Yoko Maki.
Kanae temporarily closes the bathhouse that she runs after the sudden disappearance of her husband Satoru Sekiguchi, played by Eita Nagayama. She hires a private detective named Michio Yamasaki, played by Lily Franky, to find her husband.
When Kanae reopens the bathhouse, a man named Takayuki Hori, played by Arata Iura, comes to her and asks if he can work for her. The other characters are Mina Fujikawa played by Rio Uchida, Saburo Tajima played by Suon Kan, Toshie Kijima played by Kumi Nakamura and Yoko Kanno played by Noriko Eguchi.
Hiroshi Iwanaga was the cinematographer of the film. It was edited by Masaya Okazaki.
