Dr. James Anthony “Jimmy” Ciccarelli of Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut, United States has died. He was 62.
Ciccarelli was an optometrist. He was born in Waterbury to Orlando Ciccarelli and Jeanette Marano Ciccarelli.
In 1979, Jimmy graduated from Holy Cross High School in Waterbury. He then went to Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., USA and earned his bachelor’s degree in optometry from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry in New York City, New York, USA.
At 3:24 p.m. on August 23, 2023, Waterbury Police Department officers found Jimmy dead inside his residence in Waterbury. He was allegedly killed by David Rogers, 24, of Waterbury.
Rogers is a convicted felon who was on parole when Jimmy was killed. The two were known to each other.
On October 6, 2023, Rogers was arrested while he was in the custody of Connecticut Department of Corrections in Wethersfield, Connecticut on unrelated charges. Detectives served him a warrant that had a $1.5 million bond.
Rogers was charged with murder, strangulation and larceny. On October 10, 2023, he will be arraigned in court.
