Channing Elizabeth Kula, 36, taught science to seventh graders at Brock Junior High School in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, United States. She is accused of having an improper relationship with a boy, 17, who is not a student of the school.
In July 2023, Kula allegedly had a sexual encounter with the boy in the back of her car in the parking lot of the school’s football field. Upon learning of the encounter, the Brock Independent School District immediately contacted law enforcement and placed the teacher on administrative leave.
During the investigation, the boy told investigators he and Kula did have sex once. She also admitted to having sex with the boy.
This led to the arrest of Kula. She was charged with improper relationship between an educator and a student, a second-degree felony.
On October 5, 2023, Kula was booked into the Parker County Jail in Weatherford. On the same day, she posted a $50,000 bond and was released from jail.
On October 9, 2023, Kula resigned from the Brock Independent School District. Her mugshot was not made public.
