Davika Hoorne, 31, has made history as Gucci’s first ever brand ambassador of Thai descent. Founded in 1921, the luxury fashion house is based in Florence, Italy.
Marco Bizzarri, 61, has been the president and the chief executive officer of Gucci since January 2015. Sabato de Sarno, 40, has been the creative director of the brand since January 2023.
In 2016, Hoorne joined the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in support of the Basket of Hope fundraising campaign. In 2017, she became a Bolon Eyewear brand ambassador and modelled for Michael Kors in New York Fashion Week in New York City, New York, United States.
In 2018, Hoorne walked the runway at the L’Oréal Paris Fashion Week in Paris, France and joined WildAid as Thailand’s ambassador for the Ivory Free campaign, which aims to highlight the horrific impact ivory poaching has on elephant populations in Africa. On October 9, 2023, she took to Instagram to announce her new role as a brand ambassador for Gucci and Gucci Beauty.
Born in Bangkok, Thailand to a Belgian and a Thai mother, Horne graduated from Kevalee International School in Bangkok, Hoorne and went to Rangsit University in Pathum Thani, Thailand where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication arts. In 2010, she made her acting debut by playing Tien in the television series “Ngao Kammathep”.
In 2013, Hoorne played Mae Nak in “Pee Mak”, which became the highest grossing Thai film of all time. For the role, she won the Best Actress award at the 23rd Thailand National Film Association Awards.
In 2015, Hoorne starred in the romantic comedy film “Heart Attack” opposite Sunny Suwanmethanon. In 2016, Hoorne starred in “Suddenly Twenty”, a Thai remake of the 2014 South Korean film “Miss Granny”.
In 2019, Hoorne played Tantawan in the ONEHD series “My Ambulance”. She played Nubdao in the GMM 25 series “Astrophile” in 2022 and Ms. Toom / Monruedee Sarnpan in the Netflix series “6ixtynin9: The Series” in 2023.
