Melissa McBride, 58, played Carol Peletier in all 11 seasons of the AMC series “The Walking Dead” from 2010 to 2022. Norman Reedus, 54, played Daryl Dixon in the series in the same years.
“The Walking Dead” ended in Season 11 episode 24 “Rest in Peace”, which aired on November 30, 2022. In the finale, Carol and Daryl said goodbye and affirmed their eternal love for one another before he left to search for other survivors in the wider world.
Originally, Carol was among the characters in the spinoff series “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon“. But in April 2022, McBride dropped out because the filming location was moved to Europe.
Created by David Zabel, the spinoff series premiered on AMC on September 10, 2023. The sixth and final episode “Coming Home” will air on AMC and AMC+ at 9:00 p.m. on October 15, 2023.
On October 12, 2023, AMC brought a special advance screening of “Coming Home” to New York Comic Con at the Javits Center in New York City, New York, United States. Viewers will see Carol in the episode.
During the event, it was confirmed that Carol will be a regular character in the second season of the spinoff series titled “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol“, which will premiere in 2024. In a statement, McBride said apart or together, Daryl and Carol’s stories run deep.
“I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here,” McBride said. “This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them and I’m loving the discoveries.”
Currently, “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol” is in production in France. Joining Reedus and McBride in the cast are Anne Charrier, Clémence Poésy, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi and Romain Levi.
