On July 7, 2010, a criminal lawsuit was filed against Goodman in Los Angeles, California. In August 2023, Goodman got married. He and his wife have a child together.
While in Port Townsend, Goodman allegedly uploaded images of child sexual abuse via Kik, a freeware instant messaging mobile app. An investigation began with a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about the images.
The location of the uploader was traced and the information was forwarded to the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force at the Seattle Police Department in Seattle, Washington. An agent with Homeland Security Investigations connected the information with Goodman in Port Townsend.
On October 11, 2023, Goodman was arrested and charged with production of images of child sexual abuse. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum 25 years in prison due to his prior convictions.
