Recently, Zacarias was arraigned on assault and battery on a pregnant victim, two counts of rape and three counts of assault to rape in Lynn District Court on Essex Street in Lynn. After the arraignment, he walked out of court.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers were denied when they tried to interview Zacarias in court, Boston Herald reported. Todd Lyons is the director of the field office of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

“These crimes, which include multiple charges of rape and assault and battery on a pregnant victim, are deeply disturbing,” the publication quoted Lyons as saying. “ERO Boston is committed to apprehending and removing immigration violators who present a threat to public safety.”

On October 11, 2023, Zacarias was arrested near his residence in Lynn. He is currently in federal custody and is awaiting a deportation hearing.
