Jeffrey Schneider, 56, of Waxhaw, Union County, North Carolina, United States is a former employee of the public schools district of Union County. He worked as an instructional coach at Sun Valley Middle School and Sun Valley High School in Indian Trail, Union County.
In August 2015, Union County Public Schools (UCPS) hired Schneider. While employed by the school district, he allegedly possessed images flagged as child pornography.
On the morning of October 17, 2023, Union County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched Schneider’s home in the Skyecroft subdivision in Waxhaw. The deputies seized electronic devices.
Schneider was taken into custody and charged with 10 counts of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was booked into Union County Jail in Monroe, Union County.
After Schneider’s arrest, UCPS placed him on administrative leave. He was given a secured bond of $50,000.
On October 18, 2023, Schneider was released from custody. That day, he announced his resignation from UCPS.
On November 8, 2023, Schneider will be back in court. His name was not mentioned in the statement sent to the parents by the principal of the schools where Schneider worked.
