Weldon Eugene “Hip” Alexander was an American man from Texarkana, Bowie County, Texas, United States. He was 13 years older than his first wife Vera Jeanette Lynch Alexander.

In 1981, Karen and Gordon were murdered. No suspects were identified and the case went cold.
In 2022, the case was reopened. On October 11, 2023, Miller County prosecuting attorney Connie Mitchell wrote to retired Texarkana Police Department captain Calvin Seward and Dr. Todd Steffy, “After reviewing your comprehensive report and meeting with you personally to discuss the case, your findings and theories, it is my opinion that Weldon Alexander, father to Karen Alexander and Gordon Alexander, is the sole, viable suspect in their murder.
Mitchell added that Weldon “committed or attempted to commit rape against his daughter Karen and in the course of and in furtherance of said rape, he caused the death of his daughter, Karen”. According to Mitchell, Weldon “caused the death” of Gordon “in the course of and in furtherance of the rape of Karen” or “in the immediate flight therefrom”.
