MeetMe is one of the dating app networking services owned by The Meet Group, Inc., which is headquartered in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. Founded in April 2005 as myYearbook, the company was renamed Meet Me in June 2012 and it rebranded to The Meet Group in April 2017.

Designed specifically for meeting new people, MeetMe is available on desktop, Apple and Android devices. Users can download the app through Google Play or the App Store.

Matthew Lee, 28, of Jefferson Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania is accused of using the MeetMe app to distribute photos of a girl, 4. He and another user allegedly shared photos of nude adults and a clothed teenage girl.

Later, Lee allegedly told the other MeetMe user that he was sexually interested in children. The other user allegedly asked Lee if he had any photos.

“I can get some of a 4 year old,” Lee allegedly replied. “I can show u anything.”

Unbeknownst to Lee, he was actually communicating with an undercover detective. The Meet Group shared Lee’s profile picture with detectives, which matched with his driver’s license picture.

The detectives checked the internet protocol address and it led them to Lee’s residence in Jefferson Hills. On October 20, 2023, a search warrant was served in the residence where he was interviewed by investigators.

Lee was arrested and booked into the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. He is awaiting arraignment and facing multiple charges, including sexual abuse of children and the sharing of child pornography.
