- On October 17, 2023, he was arrested for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence after he allegedly crashed into Pepperdine University senior students Asha Weir, 21, Deslyn Williams, 21, Peyton Stewart, 21, and Niamh Rolston, 20, in Malibu. The four women were killed in the crash.
- On October 18, 2023, he was released from jail because much of the evidence needed to keep him in custody was pending.
