Darien, Illinois’s Saad Alkhawaja arrested; Illinois State Police conducts anti-human trafficking operation

Saad Yousef Alkhawaja, 63, of Darien, DuPage County, Illinois, United States is 5’11” tall. His registered weight is 195 pounds.

Aside from Darien, Alkhawaja has lived in other parts of Illinois including Bolingbrook, Chicago, Cicero, Downer’s Grove, Romeoville and Westmont. He is accused of communicating online with an undercover officer who was posing as a female juvenile.

From October 25-26, 2023, the Illinois State Police conducted an anti-human trafficking operation in the Will County, Illinois area. It focused on identifying adults seeking to engage in commercial sex acts with minors.

As a part of a multifaceted approach by the Illinois State Police aimed at stopping human trafficking in Illinois, the operation resulted in the arrests of six men including Alkhawaja. The Darien resident was charged with indecent solicitation of a minor and traveling to meet a minor.

Alkhawaja allegedly went to a hotel in Bolingbrook to meet who he thought was an underage girl to engage in sexual conduct. He was arrested and booked into the Will County Jail in Joliet, Illinois on October 25, 2023.

On October 27, 2023, Alkhawaja and two other suspects appeared in court for their detention hearings before Judge Donald DeWilkins. The judge ordered to keep the three suspects detained in jail.
