Robert R. Card II of Bowdoin, Sagadahoc County, Maine, United States has reportedly died. He was 40.
At around 6:56 p.m. on October 25, 2023, Card allegedly used a high-powered assault-style rifle to open fire at the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley in Lewiston, Androscoggin County, Maine. He allegedly fatally shot Robert “Bob” E. Violette, 76, Lucille M. Violette, 73, Keith D. Macneir, 64, Tricia C. Asselin, 53, Michael R. Deslauriers II, 51, Jason Adam Walker, 51, William “Bill” A. Young, 44, Thomas Ryan “Tommy” Conrad, 34, and Aaron Young, 14.
At around 7:15 p.m., Card allegedly used the same rife to open fire at Schemengees Bar & Grille Restaurant in Lewiston. He allegedly fatally shot Joseph Lawrence “Joe” Walker, 57, Ronald “Ron” G. Morin, 55, William Frank “Bill” Brackett, 48, Stephen M. “Steve” Vozzella, 45, Arthur Fred Strout, 42, Bryan M. MacFarlane, 41, Peyton Brewer Ross, 40, Joshua Alfred Seal, 36, and Maxx A. Hathaway, 35.
At 9:56 p.m., Card’s white 2013 Subaru Outback was found at the Pejepscot Boat Launch in Lisbon, Androscoggin County, Maine. He was not inside.
On October 26, 2023, authorities went to Card’s residence in Bowdoin and found a suicide note addressed to his son. That day, Card’s sister-in-law Katie O’Neill Card told The Daily Beast that he is “quiet but the most loving, hardworking and kind person” that she knows.
On October 27, 2023, Robert was found dead at a recycling center in Lisbon, law enforcement sources told ABC News. He had a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the sources.
