Mason Dominguez, 24, of Newberg, Yamhill County, Oregon, United States is originally from Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, USA. He went to Davis High School in Yakima.

In May 2022, Dominguez graduated from George Fox University in Newberg with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, health and human performance. In the same month, he joined Sherwood High School in Sherwood, Washington County, Oregon as an assistant football coach and a student teacher.

In August 2022, Dominguez went back to George Fox University to pursue a master’s degree in teaching. In April 2023, a Sherwood High School student came forward and claimed to be sexually abused by Dominguez, which led to the student teacher’s removal from the school’s campus.

After the Sherwood Police Department started investigating Dominguez, a second victim came forward. George Fox University placed the student teacher on leave, removed him from campus and placed his teaching credentials on hold.

On October 16, 2023, a grand jury in Washington County indicted Dominguez. On October 26, 2023, he was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail in Hillsboro, Washington County.

Dominguez was charged with using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct, tampering with a witness, two counts of luring a minor and two counts of attempting to use a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct. Multiple victims have been identified and more victims and witnesses are expected to come forward, according to the Sherwood Police Department.
