Documenting RuPaul Andre Charles in the search for the United States’ next drag superstar, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” premiered on LogoTV on February 2, 2009. Its 17th season is expected to air on MTV in 2025.
To get cast on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 17, aspiring drag queens can submit their applications via World of Wonder. The deadline of submission is on January 5, 2024.
World of Wonder produced the first eight seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” for Logo TV and its ninth to 14th seasons for WOW Presents Plus and VH1. MTV has been broadcasting the show since its 15th season, which aired from January 6, 2023 to April 14, 2023.
Professionally known as Sasha Colby, Sasha Kekauoha, 39, of Los Angeles, California, USA won “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 15. She bested 15 other contestants including Isaiah “Anetra” Padua, 25, of Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, who was the runner-up.
On August 21, 2023, Paramount announced that the show has been officially renewed for a 16th season on MTV. Details about the new contestants have yet to be confirmed.
