Daniel Ramos-Aviles, 40, of Southwest Miami-Dade, Florida, United States served as a police officer in Miami-Dade County, Florida. He is accused of abusing three children while he was employed as a Miami-Dade Police Department officer.

One of the alleged victims is Ramos-Aviles’s biological child while the other two are his stepdaughter and his niece. He allegedly performed sexual acts on the children and in front of them on multiple occasions.

Two of the alleged victims lived in the same residence with Ramos-Aviles. He allegedly told the youngest victim, his own child, not to tell anyone because he could go to jail.

On October 30, 2023, a warrant was issued for Ramos-Aviles’s arrest. On October 31, 2023, Miami-Dade Police Department officers arrested him and booked him into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in Miami, Miami-Dade County.

Ramos-Aviles is being held without bond. He was charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child under 16 years of age, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child less than 12 years of age and three counts of sexual battery on a minor.

On October 31, 2023, Ramos-Aviles appeared in bond court before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer. The judge ordered the former police officers to have no contact with the three victims, to stay at least 500 feet away from their residences and places of employment and to surrender any firearms and prohibited him from taking any drugs.

Glazer ruled that within 48 hours of being released from jail, Ramos-Aviles is allowed to return to the residence where the alleged crimes took place to retrieve his belongings. He must have police supervision.
