Data extracted from the secure digital card of Lingard’s phone allegedly revealed around 23 images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) depicting minors who appear to be under 10 years old. At least two of the images show minors the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children previously identified as child sexual abuse victims.

The children in the images were all under the age of 10. Investigators also found images of fully clothed girls under 18, some of which were taken surreptitiously at Shrewsbury High School.

Subsequently, devices stored at Lingard’s residence in Shrewsbury were searched. An additional collection of alleged CSAM was found.

On October 30, 2023, Lingard was arrested and charged with transportation of and possession of child pornography. He appeared before U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge David H. Hennessy in federal court in Worcester, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
