Kevin Edral Douglas, 46, of Cary, North Carolina, United States is accused of threatening to become an active shooter against children. On the evening of November 1, 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported the threat to the Cary Police Department.

The department contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and activated the Wake Regional Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team. They searched for Douglas with the help of personnel from other public safety agencies in other parts of North Carolina including Raleigh, Morrisville and Holly Springs.

Before the day ended, Douglas was arrested without incident at Extended Stay America on Weston Parkway in Cary. He was charged with cyberstalking and communicating threats.

Shortly after, Douglas was released from jail after posted $1,000 bond. Hours later, he was arrested again by Cary Police Department officers.

There are still no details about Douglas’s second arrest. Whether or not he is being held without bail has yet to be confirmed.
