Yoocaa baby loungers were exclusively sold on Amazon from January 2021 through May 2023. The baby product retailed between $30 and $55.
Jeff Bezos, 59, founded Amazon in Bellevue, Washington, United States on July 5, 1994. The company focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, online advertising, digital streaming and artificial intelligence.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has yet to receive reports of incidents or injuries involving the Yoocaa baby loungers sold on Amazon. However, the agency has recalled the product.
Formed on October 24, 1972, the CPSC is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, USA. The agency seeks to promote the safety of consumer products by addressing unreasonable risks of injury, developing uniform safety standards and conducting research into product-related illness and injury.
On November 2, 2023, the CPSC announced that more than 4,140 Yoocaa baby loungers have been recalled because they failed to meet safety requirements. The agency pose a suffocation risk to children and an entrapment hazard by creating an unsafe sleeping environment.
In particular, the recalled baby loungers did not have not have a stand and failed to meet the side height or fabric side opening requirement criteria. The density of product’s sleeping pad exceeded the maximum limit and the words “SLEEPING SET” were printed on a tag sewn inside of its cover.
The recall is in effect for any and all Yooca baby loungers that were bought on or after June 23, 2022. Products marked with the LOT number 20220623, which means June 23, 2022, or have a number indicating later dates are part of the recall.
A full refund will be given to those who bought the recalled lounger. They are asked to immediately stop using the product and contact Yoocaa Direct for instructions on how to properly dispose of it.
Amazon and Yoocaa Direct will directly contact all known purchasers. Those who still have the original packaging are encouraged to review the packaging label for the manufacturer date.
