Jazreanna Andrelis Sheppard Gonzalez of South Boston, Boston, Massachusetts, United States has died. She was 21.
In 2021, Sheppard gave birth to a son. At around 11:30 p.m. on July 20, 2023, she was walking to a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) station in the Boston Common in Boston when she was stabbed allegedly by Alyssa Partsch, 30, of Dorchester, Boston.
Boston Police Department officers responded to the area and found Sheppard suffering from stab wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On July 22, 2023, Sheppard died in the hospital. Her family decided to donate her organs to “heroically save the lives of others”, according to a GoFundMe campaign.
At around 6:00 a.m. on November 4, 2023, members of the Boston Police Department’s fugitive unit arrested Partsch in Boston. She is expected to be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court in Boston.
The MBTA was originally established as an individual department within the Massachusetts. On August 3, 1964, it succeeded the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA).
In 2009, MBTA became a division of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Since April 10, 2023, Phillip Eng has been the general manager and the chief executive officer of the MBTA.
